๐Ÿ™ Jap Yatra

Terms of Service

Effective date: 28 August 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Nivatech ("we", "us") about your use of the Jap Yatra Android app ("the App"). Please read them before using the App. By installing or using Jap Yatra, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

How we handle your information is covered separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

1. The App is free

Jap Yatra is provided free of charge. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no ads, and we never ask you for payment details. If we ever introduce a paid feature, it will be clearly marked as such and these terms will be updated first.

2. Who may use it

You need a Google account to sign in, and you must be old enough under the law of your country to create an online account and agree to these terms without a parent or guardian. If you are not, please do not use the App. See section 12 of the Privacy Policy for more on children's use.

3. Your account

You sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure, and for activity that happens under your Jap Yatra account. Your name and profile picture come from your Google account, so if you change them there, they change here too.

Please do not share your account or use someone else's. If you think your account has been used without your permission, email us.

4. Chants and devotional content

The mantras in Jap Yatra are traditional texts, offered to support your personal practice. We have taken care with them, but transliterations, translations and recitation practices differ across traditions, teachers and regions, and we do not claim that any particular form is the only correct one.

Jap Yatra is a counting tool, not a religious authority. Nothing in the App is a substitute for the guidance of your own teacher, tradition or family practice. For anything that matters to your sadhana, follow your guru or tradition rather than the App.

The App is not a substitute for medical, psychological or professional advice of any kind.

5. Sankalps and other members

A Sankalp is a shared chanting goal. If you create one, join one, or invite others to one, please keep in mind:

You agree not to use Sankalps, names, descriptions or invites to post anything unlawful, abusive, hateful, obscene, deceptive, or that infringes someone else's rights, and not to harass other members or misrepresent who you are. We may remove content or restrict an account that breaches this.

6. Acceptable use

Please use the App as it is meant to be used. You agree not to:

7. Your counts and your data

We try hard to keep your practice recorded accurately. Counting works offline and syncs when you reconnect, and the App is built to avoid losing taps. Even so, please understand that Jap Yatra is not a guaranteed system of record. Software, devices and networks fail, and counts may in rare cases be delayed, duplicated or lost.

If your practice depends on an exact, permanent record, keep your own count as well. We are not able to reconstruct lost counts.

8. Availability and changes to the App

We may add, change, suspend or remove features, and we may update the App at any time. We may also stop offering Jap Yatra altogether. If we plan to discontinue it, we will make a reasonable effort to let you know in advance so you can note down whatever matters to you.

The App depends on Google services, including Google Sign-In and the Google Play Store. Interruptions in those services will affect the App, and are outside our control.

9. Ending your use

You may stop using Jap Yatra whenever you wish, and you may ask us to delete your account and data at any time โ€” see Delete your account for how. Uninstalling the App does not by itself delete data held in your account.

We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if it is necessary to protect other users or the service, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

10. Intellectual property

The App itself โ€” its name, logo, design, artwork, text and software โ€” belongs to Nivatech and is protected by law. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you control, for your own practice. They do not transfer any ownership to you.

The traditional mantra texts are not claimed as our property. Anything you create โ€” a Sankalp name or description โ€” remains yours; by adding it you allow us to store, display and share it within the App as needed to provide the feature.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that counts and statistics will always be accurate or preserved.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Nivatech will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, counts, records, goodwill or spiritual merit, arising out of or connected with your use of the App โ€” even if we have been told such loss might occur.

Jap Yatra does not guarantee that your counts are accurate. Counts, malas and statistics may be delayed, duplicated, lost or otherwise incorrect, and you should not rely on them as an exact or permanent record. Because the App is provided free of charge, Nivatech is not liable to pay you any amount for inaccurate or lost data, counts or records, and our total liability to you for all claims relating to the App is nil.

13. Indemnity

You agree to hold Nivatech harmless from claims, losses and costs arising from your misuse of the App or your breach of these terms, including anything you post in a Sankalp name or description.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute relating to the App or to these terms is subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the App changes. The updated version takes effect when it is published on this page, and the effective date above will be revised. For significant changes we will make a reasonable effort to notify you in the App. Continuing to use Jap Yatra after a change means you accept the updated terms.
